John F Kennedy Jr was murdered by Clinton to prevent him being a rival for the presidency. (He died in a plane crash.)

Jewish space lasers caused the California wildfires.

Over half of Republicans believe that the January 6th insurrection was a non-violent protest despite the fact that 5 people died and dozens were injured, police were attacked with fire extinguishers, clubs and bottles, and the lives of members of congress, both Democrat and Republican were threatened with death.

According to polls, 1 in 6 Republican voters will not vote in the mid-terms because they believe the elections are so rigged that their vote doesn’t matter, even though there has been zero, ZERO, verifiable proof of such fraud.

Laws are being changed in red states to make voting harder and to disenfranchise minority voters because in most cases the leadership of the Republican party understand that if elections are open to every eligible voter they cannot win.

Florida is making it illegal to have discussions about sexual or gender identity in school, and by so doing they are assuring that Gay and Transgender kids will continue to be bullied and held up to ridicule.
When Representative Hal Rogers, Republican from Kentucky, was asked by Representative Joyce Beatty, Democrat from Ohio, as they boarded the Capital Train to please put on a mask, he poked her in the back and told her to get on the train.  When she asked him not to touch her, he told her to kiss his ass.
In the days following the January 6th riot Ted Cruz called the incident a terrorist attack and condemned the violence.  Since, after being called to task by the Fox [entertainment] News network and former and disgraced president Trump, now says that it is a mistake to call it anything other than a demonstration.
Representative Thomas Massie, Republican from Kentucky, says that one of the reasons he is against Medicare for All is because something like 70% of those that have died from Covid-19 were on Medicare, which shows how dangerous a health care system it is.  Of course he is not intellectual enough to understand that almost all people over 65 are on Medicare and are also most likely to die from the virus, not because of Medicare, but because of their age.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican from Georgia, tried to make a dig at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by accusing her of gazpacho tactics.  It can only be assumed she meant Gestapo, but we, and apparently her, will never know for sure.

The University of Alabama is reconsidering its decision last week to retain the name of a one-time governor who led the Ku Klux Klan on a campus building, while adding the name of the school’s first Black student. I guess they think that balances things out.

Once more in Alabama, a Jewish student was, along with the rest of his class, instructed by his history professor to stand and give a Nazi salute. When he posted about this, he, not the professor, was reprimanded.

Phone and mail threats against lawmakers and officials have been getting more and more common and more threatening in nature.

These are all in today’s headlines.  This is where our country has gone.  And this is just a fraction of the things I could have included.  Our country seems to be spiraling out of control, even making many fear that we are heading for a second civil war.  That is a scary thought.  I am slightly optimistic it won’t go that far but that assumes some form of sanity begins to creep back into our day-to-day interactions.

The last few decades lulled most of us into thinking that things were really much better.  We thought racism was under control and slowly being eradicated.  Of course, victims of that racism knew better.  We thought people were finally learning to get along and live and let live, but now we know that the enemies of freedom and morality were just biding their time until they could find their way back into control.

It is easy to blame Trump for that, but he was just the final symptom and not the cause.  He probably did more than most to make the purveyors of hate more willing to show themselves, but they were there all along.  Many people enjoy being ignorant and embrace anything that makes them feel superior to others, when in fact they are often lacking in common decency and intelligence.  They are driven on by the power elite, especially in the GOP, who know better but are not interested in anything other than power and wealth, and are willing to tell any lie, incite any violence, to see their power grow.

So, is there hope?  It is not a sure thing at all.  But there is a path to set our imperfect country once again on a path to improvement.  Being involved.  Voting.  Speaking out when we see injustice or ignorance, even when it is uncomfortable.  It has always been important, but it has never been more important.  So, whatever it takes, no matter how hard they try and make it, VOTE.  Help others who need it to vote also.  That is our path to salvation.

Remember, when we work together, power really is with the people.
